Mechanical Engineering is one of the major activities in the engineering profession and its principles are involved in the design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems. Continued research and development have led to better machines and processes helping the mankind.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at SKUCET is established in 2014 with intake of 60 students. The department impacts on the institute and on society are easily demonstrated by noting the alignment of the department's evolution with key events and technological advances in India. Today, the department of Mechanical engineering of SKUCET attracts and features an extraordinary rich diversity and quantity of talented individuals of undergraduates, with well qualified Faculty members.
The department has laboratory and workshop facilities with modern sophisticated equipment to carry out research in all areas related to Mechanical Engineering.
In addition to teaching undergraduate students, the faculty of Mechanical Engineering actively pursues through various programs to the students.

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sri Krishnadevaraya University College Of Engineering Ananthapuramu. We started our journey in the year 2014. Over the last four years, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum and research. We have a strong undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering. The under-graduate program provides you an excellent opportunity to learn fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering and undertake a high quality basics as well as applied research in various domains of Mechanical Engineering.
Our department offers choice based engineering curriculum. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies. The department offers good number of elective courses for providing a wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their interest. The course contents are periodically updated for introducing new scientific and technological developments.
The department has the modern infrastructure to undertake high-end teaching, research and developmental activities in its ten laboratories, besides highly experienced faculty. Our Laboratories have been very well established not only to cover complete syllabus but to motivate students to learn beyond the syllabus which definitely develops complete knowledge of the subject (both the practical and theoretical depth of knowledge) and develop skill sets of students to become promising engineer in future. Undergraduate students are encouraged to undertake various research projects. Our department is very active in carrying out collaborative and industry based research.
For the last 5 years our faculty has published over 50 technical papers, out of which more than 25 papers were published in International Journals
Our department has an excellent record in both teaching and research in the Institute. Faculty members have good academic credentials and are highly motivated. They have been conferred with prestigious awards at national level. The students work with various clubs/chapters like NSS, and Innovation Ideas Club. They showcase their potential knowledge in the form of development of product/ alter rain vehicles, solar cars, Race cars and organize the workshops/seminars/conferences.
